Here is my second segment of “Made Me Monday.” Today, I want to talk to you about an affordable product the internet made me buy. At least, more affordable than Sephora brands. I’m talking about a $12.00 USD MakeUp Revolution Product. MakeUp Revolution is a brand that I initially refused to buy, because I felt that they blatantly ripped off other brands. Their chocolate eye shadow palettes are clearly a Too Face Rip Off and their Ultra Eye Contour Light and Shade Palette is easily the most offensive knock-off. Kat Von D has made her opinion of the “dupe” clear. I do agree that the brand has crossed a bit of a line.
The MakeUp Revolution Brow Pomade was one of the few well-reviewed products. Beauty gurus were raving about it and Casey Homes (another YouTuber that I religiously follow) loves the product. Naturally, I went to Ulta Beauty and bought it. It’s definitely not a bad product, but it certainly isn’t my favorite.
This brow pomade is a very dry formula, so it drags when I run spoolie through my brow afterwards. It also doesn’t look particular natural. If you’re going of a full glam look or a photoshoot, this might be a good product for you. Please keep in mind, that this is not a very forgiving product. New users make not like this, as the dry formula doesn’t give it much slide, making it harder to erase mistakes. So, it doesn’t really fit my needs on a day to day basis.
My favorite brow product is a third of the cost and retails for $4.00 USD. The ELF Cosmetics Lock On Liner and Brow Cream is the smoothest product I have ever used. Any mistakes are easily fixed by running a brow brush through your hair and the product appears very natural. No one in the beauty community seems to be talking about this product, which I find to be a real shame. It’s definitely worth your money…and it makes a great eyeliner.
